Former political dignitaries of countries along the Belt and Road areas revisit Pangoal Institution

2018 is the fifth year after proposal of the Belt and Road Initiative. Within five years, the Belt and Road Initiative comes from conception to practice, from vision to reality, and manifests increasing values of openness, inclusiveness, connectivity and reciprocity, which optimizes positive intercourses of China with the outside world and further leads countries all over the world towards sound development of buildinga community of shared future for mankind.




Previous May 15witnessed the debut of the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing. One year later, the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by China obtains support from an increasing number of countries and international organizations, and wider attention from international community. Under such circumstances, the Pangoal Institution organizes the seminar “Construction of the Belt and Road Initiative”, inviting former political dignitaries likeZlatko Lagumdžija, former Chairman of the Council of Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Boris Tadic,Senior Advisor of Advisory Committee of the Pangoal Institution, Former President of Serbia,Valdis Zatlers, Former president of Latvia,Ismail Serageldin, former vice president of World Bank, Co-chair of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center (NGIC) and etc. to carry out deep exchanges round issues such as economic development, conception, and public diplomacy and so forth in the process of construction of the Belt and Road.

Yi Peng, president of the Pangoal Institution extends warm welcome to invited former political dignitaries and points out that the Belt and Road Initiative benefits people of China and countries across the Belt and Road, especially new progress made in the construction of the Belt and Road within one year, and that concepts like “One Belt, One Road” and “A community with shared future for mankind” are gaining more and more acceptance. He also argues that building the Belt and Road together is not merely for China, but also for countries across the Belt and Road that enjoy opportunities for development, during which process the Pangoal Institution, a leading China based social think tanks, is willing to bridge exchanges with other think tanks and get involved in achievement of principles of consultation, contribution and shared benefits.

Foreign guests agree that China plays a great impact on advancing global governance, which deepens economic cooperation with each other and fuels world’s economy towards better development, and that“China’s Role in International Relations: Prospects of the Belt and Road Initiative” forum in 2017 lay solid foundation for cooperation in the future, held by Nizami Ganjavi International Center and Pangoal Institution. Nizami International Center expects to develop extensive cooperation with the Pangoal Institution in the fields of the Belt and Road and global governance and so forth.

On June 20and 22,2017, “China's Role in International Relations: Prospects of the Belt and Road Initiative” forum was co-hosted by Nizami Ganjavi International Center, School of International Studies of Peking University and the Pangoal Institution. Nearly 20 political dignitaries attended the forum and participated in discussion over the Belt and Road. Two days of exchanges of minds broadened mutual understanding of purposes, process, connotation and implementation path of the Belt and Road Initiative and enhanced understanding and support of countries along the Belt and Road areas towards the Belt and Road Initiative, further extending international influence of the Belt and Road Initiative.
