The Pangoal Institution Ranks Most Influential Social Think Tank Top 3 on

On the afternoon of November 25th, the Sichuan Provincial Academy of Social Sciences and the Chengdu Literature and Information Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences jointly issued the "China Think Tank Influence Report (2018)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report"). Since 2015, the Report has been released for four consecutive years. The report is the result of collaborative innovation between the Sichuan Academy of Social Sciences and the Chinese Literature and Information Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It is also the first think tank report supported by big data in the western region.

The "Report" evaluated the influence of various think tanks in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan in 2017. The "Report" uses an evaluation model combining subjective and objective data to evaluate the influence of 480 think tanks in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan from five dimensions: decision-making, professionalism, public opinion, social and international influence.

In the report's list of the most influential social think tanks, the Pangoal Institution stands out in the five influence evaluations of “decision, profession, public opinion, society and international”, and stand out from the social think tanks of all participating in the list. In the third place, it has risen by one compared with last year. Compared with the previous year, it has increased by seven. It is one of the few social think tanks in the list that has been influential in recent years.

The Pangoal Institution, established as a representative of the Chinese social think tank, was established in 2013. the Pangoal Institution focuses on international relations, innovation-driven, regional and industrial, macroeconomics and finance, and actively carries out civil diplomacy practice and serves the national policy. Today, the Pangoal Institution has brought together more than 300 prestigious and well-known individuals from home and abroad to serve as senior consultants, academic committee members and researchers. In addition, the Pangoal Institution, as the main sponsor, advocated the establishment of a Global Governance Think Tank Network consisting of more than 50 leading think tanks in China, the United States, Germany, Italy, India, South Korea, Singapore, Canada, etc., greatly improving the discourse power of Chinese think tanks in global governance. At the same time, the Pangoal Institution also held more than 350 high-level international forums including “the Pangoal Institution – Korea East Asia Foundation China-Korea Strategic Dialogue”, covering topics such as global governance, the Belt and Road Initiative, innovation-driven, macroeconomics and finance, G20, Hot issues such as the BRICS mechanism. A number of former political figures from around the world, senior scholars from various fields have visited the the Pangoal Institution.

Previously, the National Information Center released the BRI Big Data Report 2018 at the Summer DAVOS Forum 2008 held in Tianjin. The Pangoal Institution was ranked second in the most influential social think tank. On November 10, 2017, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences China Social Science Evaluation Institute held the “The Fourth National Humanities and Social Sciences Evaluation Summit Forum” in Beijing, and the China Think Tank Comprehensive Evaluation AMI published by the China Social Science Evaluation Institute. In the research report (2017), the the Pangoal Institution was selected for the 2017 China Core Think Tank. In the evaluation and ranking of the think tank of the 2017 China Think Tank Report released by the Think Tank Research Center of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, the the Pangoal Institution was first selected for the ranking, and it was ranked in the top 40 of the “China Think Tank Comprehensive Influence” and the “Social (Enterprise) Think Tank System. The “Top 10” list of influences ranks 8th in the “Social (Enterprise) Think Tank System Impact” list. In the ranking of the think tank big data index (TTBI) published by the Tsinghua University “Think Big Data Report” research group, according to the comprehensive ranking of the think tank big data index (TTBI 2016), the the Pangoal Institution ranks fifth in total, corporate and social think tanks group first. In 2016 and 2017, the Pangoal Institution was ranked among the best think tanks in Asia by the University of Pennsylvania's 2017 Global Think Tank Rankings, ranking 57th. At the “2016 China Think Tank Governance Forum” hosted by Nanjing University and Guangming Daily, the two think tank research centers published a list of CTTI source think tanks and the “China Think Tank Development Evaluation Report” based on CTTI source think tank data.
