Ambassador Barshefsky analyzed the impact of trade protectionism implemented by America to China. And put forward constructive suggestions for China to promote the management of the globalization of trade system and the development of bilateral trade relations between China and the United States.

"The trend of economic globalization will not change, will not be reversed. Economic globalization is driven by the power of the global market, which makes this trend difficult to be reversed." Long Yongtu pointed out in his speech.  At the same time, he analyzed the malpractice of trade protectionism in the United States, that it not only violated the laws of the market, but also violated the rules system of the World Trade Organization. More importantly, it violated the interests of the United States itself. He suggested that at present, China and the United States need to clarify some facts, such as the US manufacturing industry shrinking, a large loss of manufacturing jobs should not be attributed to China-US trade, but the US government had major mistakes on economic structure policy.

He Yafei said that at present, China and the United States need cooperation, not confrontation. Most of the interests of China and the United States are convergent or similar, and these convergent interests have become an important cornerstone of China-US relations, so both sides are looking to strengthen stability in bilateral relations. The change of US attitude towards global governance has had an important impact on China's participation and promotion to globalization. As China launched the "One Belt and One Road" initiative, the idea of building a community of destiny composed of multiple countries would be widely disseminated, thus contributing to more partnerships. "One Belt one road” initiative not only bring to the United States opportunities , but also bring greater challenges.
